Iron Tribe Athletes Aman Gupta and Sawan Nagpal Excel at Tata Mumbai Ultra

LONAVALA, Feb 23: Aman Gupta and Sawan Nagpal, seasoned endurance athletes and accomplished Ironman finishers, successfully completed the prestigious Tata Mumbai Ultra held in Lonavala. Competing in the 50 km category, both athletes finished in under 5 hours, securing positions in the top 70 out of 1,800 participants.
Preparation and Purpose
Their journey began in September 2025, with rigorous training focused on endurance and stamina to tackle this ultra-marathon. The Tata Mumbai Ultra served as a critical stepping stone in their athletic pursuits, showcasing their resilience and commitment to endurance sports.
The Race Experience
The Tata Mumbai Ultra is renowned for its challenging undulating slopes of the Sahyadri range, pushing runners' endurance to the limits. Participants enjoyed the pleasant February climate with an early morning start, followed by breathtaking views of:

INS Shivaji
Lions Point
Shivling Point
Monkey Point
PethShahapur Fort
Morgiri Fort
Additionally, the race route passes through TUM, which is situated at an elevation of 800 metres above sea level, adding a unique altitude challenge to the course.
Legacy and Significance
The Tata Mumbai Ultra carries a historic association with the Tata Group's legacy in Lonavala. Over 150 years ago, Jamsetji Tata built India's first hydroelectric plant in these hills to provide clean power to Mumbai. Today, the race continues to symbolize endurance, innovation, and resilience.
