Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, today strongly condemned the highly irresponsible and provocative remarks made by local Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, calling it bundle of lies aimed at misleading the people and creating unnecessary political controversy.
Gupta said it is unfortunate that instead of engaging in constructive opposition, the BJP leadership continues to rely on distortion and sensationalism. He asserted that such statements reflect frustration within the BJP, which is fast losing its political ground in Jammu after having ditched the people on crucial promises related to employment, development, and protection of regional interests.
He further stated that the BJP, sensing its receding political space in Jammu, is now making an unsuccessful attempt to exploit the sentiments of the people of Kashmir by peddling bogus narratives and spreading misinformation. "The people are politically conscious and cannot be hoodwinked by such hollow propaganda," Gupta said, adding that diversionary tactics will not help the BJP regain lost credibility.
Highlighting the governance record of the present dispensation, Gupta said that the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been working with sincerity and commitment towards transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance.
He said the administration has prioritized youth engagement, revival of stalled developmental projects, strengthening of grassroots democratic institutions, and ensuring equitable development across all regions.
Gupta reiterated that the National Conference remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the interests, dignity, and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the BJP leadership to introspect over its failures instead of indulging in baseless allegations and divisive rhetoric.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir will reject politics based on falsehood and stand firmly for unity, progress, and democratic values," he added.
