Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: The Jammu Division of Northern Railway has generated revenue of approximately Rs 62 lakh during March-the final month of the financial year 2025-26-through its most extensive campaign to date against ticketless travel and irregularities. This achievement not only signifies an increase in revenue but also marks a significant step towards ensuring discipline and transparency within railway services. The total revenue generated from ticket checking operations during the month of March stood at approximately ?62 lakh. During this period, around 11,000 individuals were apprehended for traveling without tickets or engaging in irregular travel. Elaborating on the ticket checking drive conducted in March, the success of this month is attributed to the 'Zero Tolerance' campaign executed under the guidance of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal. Intensive checks were conducted by comprehensively covering the entry and exit points at major stations such as Jammu, Katra, Srinagar, Pathankot Cantt, and Badgam. Given the heavy rush in trains during the Navratri festival, the ticket checking staff delivered an exceptional performance, thereby curbing the presence of unauthorized passengers. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal, stated, "The month of March is always challenging. Our ticket checking staff worked day and night to ensure that honest passengers faced no inconvenience. This revenue represents not merely a financial gain, but a victory for public trust in-and compliance with-railway regulations." The Jammu Division appeals to its passengers to travel with a valid ticket. Traveling without a ticket is a punishable offense under various sections of the Railways Act, 1989. Passengers are advised to always utilize valid tickets, the UTS mobile app, ATVMs, or the 'RailOne' app to avoid |
