AMRITSAR, Apr 3: The second day of the ongoing *Jashan-2026* annual cultural festival at Guru Nanak Dev University witnessed an overwhelming response from students, as the campus continued to resonate with artistic expressions, creativity and youthful energy. Participants from various departments enthusiastically took part in a diverse range of competitions, further strengthening the spirit of unity and cultural vibrancy within the university. Prof. Satnam Singh Deol said that, at the Dashmesh Auditorium, events such as mimicry, nautanki, western group dance and creative group dance captivated the audience with impressive performances and lively presentations. Students showcased their talent through engaging acts, reflecting both contemporary themes and traditional flavours.
Simultaneously, the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre hosted instrumental music competitions, including percussion and non-percussion categories, along with western vocal solo and short film-making contests. The participants displayed remarkable musical skills and innovative storytelling abilities, drawing appreciation from the judges and spectators alike.
The Sangat Hall became a hub of artistic excellence as fine arts competitions, such as poster-making, rangoli, collage, painting, photography and mehndi, were organised. Students expressed their creativity through vibrant colours and unique concepts, which turned the venue into a visual delight.
The festival will conclude on April 4, 2026 with debate and quiz competitions at the Conference Hall and energetic performances of _Giddha_ and Dance to Tune at the Dashmesh Auditorium, followed by a grand prize distribution ceremony. |
