| Reasi police bust major drug supply: 17 gm heroin, 1500 tablets seized in Katra | | | Early Times Report REASI, Apr 3: In a major action against drug trafficking and to ensure a drug-free Katra, Police Post Banganga achieved significant success today. A police party of PP Banganga had established a Naka at Keri. During the naka checking, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02DT-6459 was stopped for checking. During the search, 17 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of Rakesh Sharma S/O Romesh Chander R/O Sungal Khadwani, Tehsil Akhnoor. Further sustained checking led to the recovery of 150 strips (1500 tablets) of Pregabalin from the possession of the pillion rider Vikas Kumar S/O Satpal R/O Choghan Mohalla, Tehsil Akhnoor. In this regard, Case FIR No. 94/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation is underway to establish both backward and forward linkages of the arrested individuals and to expose the wider network involved in drug trafficking. The entire operation was carried out by I/C PP Banganga PSI Jyoti Choudhary and SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
