| BLSKS felicitates artistes for contribution in the field of performing art | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 15: To promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) felicitated artistes for their notable contribution in the field of performing art specially for their excellent performance in the Musical Play " Mata Sukrala ki Kahani" at Abhinav Theatre on 09th of April 2026. Mr.V.K.Magotra MD, BLSKS Jammu who was the Chief Guest, honoured over 50 artists/ technicians by giving away certificates on the occasion. Dr.Anju Dogra, Medical Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Health Department, was the Guest of Honor on the occasion. The Chief Guest lauded the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan -(NGO) in promoting the Traditional folk culture of the region especially by is staging one and half hour balled on Mata Sukraal ki Kahani for the first time in J&K recently. Sukrala Devi Shrine dedicated to mother goddess Mal Devi, the re-incarnation of Sharda Devi. The Word 'Mal' connotes 'Malyudhh' which depicts the Combat between Goddess and buffalo Demon Mahishasur, in which the latter was defeated by the hands of Goddess Durga. Mata Sukrala Devi Ji is Kul Devi of Dogras. The white line coated imposing edifice of the temple stands erect majestically. The pilgrims have to scale flights of many steps to reach venerated temple. The goddess has manifested herself here in the shape of a Shila seated on a Brass Lion with a silver mounted head. Behind it, is also an image of Mahishasur Murdini standing on the body of Mahishasur, the Demon King. |
