| Samba police organizes anti-drug awareness programmes across district | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Apr 15: As part of ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police today organized anti-drug awareness programmes at three different locations in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Samba, Vijaypur and Ghagwal. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from large numbers of students and locals of the area. The anti-drug awareness programmes were conducted by Samba Police at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Samba, Govt. Middle School Rakh Barotian Vijaypur and Modern Educational Institute Higher Secondary School Ghagwal. The events were conducted under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in which Addl. SP Samba, DySP Hqrs Samba, DySP DAR Samba, SHO PS Ghagwal, SHO PS Vijaypur and other police officers delivered informative lectures highlighting the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs and focus on their academic and personal development. Utilizing the opportunity, the participants were also made aware about the three New Criminal Laws implemented across the country since July 2024-highlighting their significance and key provisions. During the sessions, the officers reiterated that Samba Police is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the district by taking strict legal action against drug smugglers and suppliers. Police officers also emphasized the need of collective responsibility in eradicating the menace of drug abuse. The initiative of J&K Police in raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse was widely appreciated by the school management and all the attendees. |
