Haryana Govt is strengthening spiritual values along with economic development: CM Nayab Singh Saini
5/2/2026 9:52:36 PM
Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, May 2: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana is the land of saints and warriors, where service, sacrifice, and 'dharma' hold a special place in its culture. In line with this rich heritage, the Haryana Government is continuously working not only for economic development but also to strengthen the cultural and spiritual values of the state.
The Chief Minister said this while attending a programme on Saturday at Gokalpur Shiv Temple Ashram in Rewari. He said that to promote cultural and spiritual values, the government is running several programmes, including facilitating pilgrimages to holy places for the people of the state.
He said that the ancient Shiva Temple Ashram of Gokalpur is a living centre of Sanatan culture, faith, and traditions. The ancient Shiva temple here, believed to have been built during the Mahabharata period, stands as a witness to our glorious past.
Appreciating the three-day Maharudra Yagya and the grand Bhandara being organized at the Ashram, he described it as a symbol of social unity, service, and dedication. He also praised the work being carried out by Swami Dheeraj Giri Maharaj, including the operation of an animal hospital, cow service, marriages of poor and destitute girls, and educational support for underprivileged children, calling these true service to humanity.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that when the BJP government came to power in Haryana in 2014, the budget for cow service and cow protection was only Rs. 2 crore, which has now been increased to Rs. 600 crore. He said that continuous financial assistance is being provided to gaushalas and nandishalas for the protection of cattle across the state.
He requested Swami Dheeraj Giri Maharaj to get the gaushala run by the Ashram registered so that it can receive government assistance.
The Chief Minister said that in Indian culture, Bhandara is a living symbol of service, dedication, and equality. The tradition of Bhandara also connects us with the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - the world is one family.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that since assuming the responsibility of Prime Minister in 2014, Sh. Narendra Modi has been enhancing the glory of Sanatan Dharma. After a long struggle, sacrifice, and dedication, he fulfilled the resolve of crores of Indians by consecrating the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024.
He also developed and restored major Hindu pilgrimage sites such as Somnath, Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Kashi Vishwanath.
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is also working in the same spirit under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. For elderly people and economically weaker devotees, the 'Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana' has been launched.
Under this scheme, devotees have been taken by buses and trains to Prayagraj for Mahakumbh and to Ayodhya Dham and other pilgrimage destinations.
Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that after the BJP government came to power in 2014, the youth of Ahirwal received the maximum number of jobs.
He said that today, in this region of South Haryana, a logistics hub, university, medical college, national highways, and elevated roads have been developed, helping the area reach new heights of progress.
He added that the Ahirwal region is now connected from all sides, due to which industries are also flourishing here.
On this occasion, Swami Dheeraj Giri Maharaj, MLA Laxman Singh Yadav, District President Vandana Popli, District In-charge Naseem Ahmed, former MLA Randhir Kapriwas, Sandeep Hindustani, Mukesh Kapriwas, and Gokalpur Sarpanch Anil Yadav, along with a large number of distinguished persons, were present.
