Ramban Police apprehends one person with herion like substance

Ramban, May 17: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the ongoing “100 Days Nasha Mukt Abhiyan”, Police Station Ramban achieved a significant success during routine patrolling duty in the Karol Batti area of Ramban. Today, while a police party of PS Ramban was on patrol duty towards Karol Batti Ramban, one person was noticed moving in a suspicious manner near Batti Ramban. The police party intercepted and apprehended the suspect for questioning. During enquiry he disclosed his identity as Mudassir Ahmed Mir S/O Shamis u din Mir caste Mir , aged about 25/26 years, resident of Failty Maitra, Tehsil and District Ramban.
During his personal search, a Herion-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, cognizance of the matter was taken and FIR No. 113/2026 under Section 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ramban. Further investigation into the matter has been taken up.
Ramban Police remains committed towards making the district drug free and is intensifying its efforts under the “100 Days Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” to curb the menace of narcotics and safeguard the youth from drug abuse. General public is urged to cooperate with police and share information related to drug peddling and other unlawful activities.
