| KPs Appreciate decision of holding migrant land grievance camps at RRCM office | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 20: After the forceful migration of lakhs of displaced Kashmiri pandits from Valley in 1990, most of their immovable properties which includes their ancestral land, land of temples and shrines, houses were either illegally occupied or gutted down by anti social elements under a well thought out machinations, thus caused irreparable loss to the displaced community but despite being in place the immovable migrant Property act 1997 , its implementation in letter and spirit remained always a dream and as result of which the poor Displaced migrants used to run from pillar to post in different revenue offices in Kashmir in these 37 years for want of disposal of their grievances and retrieval & restoration of their ancestral lands but all in vain. In a joint stetment issued today by senior KP leader M.K. Yogi and notable social activist Vinod Pandita have whole heartedly expressed their gratitude on behalf of the entire community for organizing land grievance redressal camps at Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu's office for the first time in more than three decades to Lt.Governor J&K, Chief Secretary and Relief and Rehabilitation commissioner J&K with whose well though out machinations, these camps at Jammu proved to be convenient and comfortable for the displaced community Both these leaders also expressed gratitude to all the concerned Dy.Commsioners of Kashmir and the nodal officers who held these land grievance camps at RRC office Jammu and registered officially migrant land grievances and assured tangible action in this directions. Yogi & Pandita expressed sanguine hope that in a given time period some tangible out put of migrant land grievances will surely emerge out which will be in the public domain to which community has pinned great hopes .
They further appealed to Custodians of migrant properties in valley to also act on those land grievances which are already in pipe line in lower revenue offices for many years for final disposal forthwith and implement immovable migrant property act 1997 in letter and spirit with accountability. |
