Doda Police Apprehended Four Persons with approx 150 Grams of Charas-Like Substance in Two Separate NDPS Cases

DODA, May 20: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, Doda Police, under the leadership of SHO Police Station Thathri, achieved another major success by apprehending four persons in two separate NDPS cases and recovering approximately 150 grams of charas-like substance from their possession.
In the first incident, a police team of Police Station Thathri headed by HC Safeer Ahmed along with other police officials was performing naka checking duty at Thalella Morh on the basis of DDR No. 11 dated 19-05-2026. During checking, one Alto car bearing registration No. JK06-5193 coming from Chiralla side towards Doda was intercepted and subjected to search.
During search of the vehicle and its occupants, approximately 40 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from one person, while approximately 30 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from another occupant of the vehicle.
During enquiry, the accused persons were identified as:
Mukeem Ahmed S/O Nowshad Ahmed R/O Dhella
Nasir Khan S/O Kabir Khan R/O Doli, Tehsil Chiralla
Preliminary investigation revealed that both the accused had illegally procured and possessed the contraband substance and were allegedly transporting the same for selling purposes.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 45/2026 under sections 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation is underway.
In another successful operation, a police party headed by HC Shah Din along with other officials was performing patrolling duty in Bhella area. When the police party reached Main Market Bhella, one vehicle bearing registration No. JK06A-9328 coming from Malnai towards Bhella was noticed behaving suspiciously.
On noticing the police party, the driver of the vehicle suddenly attempted to take a U-turn and flee from the spot. Acting swiftly and tactfully, the police party intercepted the vehicle and apprehended both the occupants.
During questioning, both persons appeared nervous, which further raised suspicion. On conducting their personal search, approximately 40/45 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from one accused, while approximately 35/40 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from the other accused.
The accused persons were identified as:
Aquib Hussain S/O Fareed Ahmed R/O Kuthyara, Tehsil Bhalla
Kasaib Hussain S/O Farooq Ahmed R/O Pranoo, Tehsil and District Doda
Preliminary enquiry revealed that both the accused had illegally purchased and possessed the contraband substance and were allegedly transporting the same for selling purposes.
In this regard, case FIR No. 46/2026 under sections 8/20, 25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thathri and further investigation of the case is in progress.
Doda Police remains committed towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing any information related to drug peddling or illegal narcotic activities in their areas.
