| One more notorious drug peddler booked under PITNDPS Act by Samba police | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, May 20: Continuing its sustained crackdown against notorious drug peddlers and smugglers involved in illicit narcotics trade, Samba Police has booked another notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act for his continuous involvement in spreading the drug menace in the area. The accused has been detained and lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
The detained drug peddler has been identified as Abhishek Attri S/o Dayal Parshad R/o Ward No. 11, Samba, Tehsil & District Samba. He has been involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Samba for his continuous involvement in illegal drug trafficking activities in the area. Being a habitual offender, he posed a serious threat to public health and welfare, particularly to the youth.
In view of his repeated involvement in illicit narcotics trafficking, SSP Samba prepared and submitted a dossier along with connected documents to the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Acting on the same, a formal detention order under the PITNDPS Act was issued by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, following which the accused was lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
Samba Police reiterated its firm commitment and resolve to take stringent action against drug peddlers and smugglers in order to effectively curb the drug menace and ensure a safe and drug-free society. |
