REASI, May 20: Demonstrating prompt and effective action, Reasi Police arrested a notorious criminal within 4-5 hours after registration of a case at Police Station Katra.
On 19/05/2026, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Katra by Jaswant Singh, son of Maan Singh, resident of Dhandal, Udhampur, against Surinder Kumar alias Babbu regarding an incident in which the accused allegedly attempted to kill him.
Acting on the complaint, Police Station Katra registered FIR No. 152/2026 under Sections 109, 351(1), 351(3), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and investigation was immediately initiated.
Using technical assistance and sustained efforts, the police team of PS Katra swiftly tracked and apprehended the accused within 4-5 hours of the case registration. Further investigation is underway.
