NFR's Amrit Bharat Express Trains in Assam & West Bengal Achieve Remarkable Success and Passenger Appreciation

MALIGAON, May 20: The introduction of the modern and passenger-friendly Amrit Bharat Express trains from various stations of Assam & West Bengal under the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway has emerged as a major success story in Indian Railways, receiving exceptional appreciation and overwhelming response from passengers across the country. The impressive occupancy and earnings figures clearly reflect the growing popularity, affordability, comfort and reliability of these services among the travelling public.
The Amrit Bharat Express services connecting key destinations such as Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Alipurduar Junction and New Jalpaiguri with major cities across India have recorded remarkable passenger utilisation since their introduction from January, 2026. Several services registered occupancy levels significantly above 100%, highlighting the immense public demand and the increasing preference of passengers for these trains.
A total of 07 pairs of Amrit Bharat Express trains are presently originating from Assam & West Bengal in the jurisdiction of NFR. These include Train No. 15671/15672 operating between Kamakhya and Rohtak, Train No. 15949/15950 operating between Dibrugarh and Gomti Nagar, Train No. 16597/16598 operating between Alipurduar Junction and SMVT Bengaluru, Train No. 11031/11032 operating between Alipurduar Junction and Panvel, Train No. 15673/15674 operating between Kamakhya and Charlapalli, Train No. 20609/20610 operating between New Jalpaiguri and Tiruchchirappalli and Train No. 20603/20604 operating between New Jalpaiguri and Nagercoil. All these services have been receiving highly encouraging passenger patronage and are significantly strengthening rail connectivity between the Northeast and different regions of the country.
Among the major achievements, Train No. 15671/15672 Amrit Bharat Express operating between Kamakhya and Rohtak witnessed outstanding passenger patronage with utilisation reaching up to 136%. Similarly, Train No. 15949/15950 Amrit Bharat Express connecting Dibrugarh and Gomti Nagar recorded impressive occupancy figures exceeding 140% on multiple trips, demonstrating the immense popularity and growing public confidence in the service. During this period, these Amrit Bharat Express trains carried more than 1.78 lakh passengers and generated earnings exceeding Rs. 23 crores highlighting the remarkable success of these services.
