UDHAMPUR, May 20: The civil society of Udhampur organized impressive felicitation ceremony and honoured the proud daughters of Udhampur who brought laurels to their home district , UT of J&K & country by winning Gold & Silver medals in international karate championship held at Kandy , Sri Lanka , in which ten countries participated.
A total of nine girls of J&K , all belonging to Panchari and Moungri Tehsils of Udhampur District participated in the international event abroad and won three Gold and six Silver Medals . While Manisha Devi, Jyoti Devi and Kamlesh Devi were honoured for winning Gold medals , Sushila Bharati, Renu Devi ,Minakshi Devi ,Pooja Devi , Kiran Devi and Divti Devi were felicitated for bagging Silver Medals .
Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma , Deputy Director SKPAU BenamTosh , MLA Udhampur East Pawan Kumar Gupta, President Chamder of Commerce & Industries Udhampur Sham Kalsotra, President Beopar Mandal Udhampur Jatinder Varmani, District BJP President Arun Gupta, renowned social activists Sunil Badyal, Arun Seth, Sumit Gupta, Kailash Dutt, former Tehsildar Udhampur Gandharb Singh, former Naib Tehsildar Balwant Singh and senior journalists of print and electronic media among others were present in the grand function and felicitated the dynamic girls amid emotional applause.
The dignitaries congratulated the girls and their worthy parents, nears & dears on marvelous achievement at international level and wished them brilliant success in future endeavors. |
