| Reasi police cracks down on drug network; properties worth Rs 45 lakhs attached | | | Early Times Report KATRA, May 25: Under the ongoing "Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan", Reasi Police has intensified its crackdown against drug peddlers and narcotics networks by attaching immovable properties belonging to notorious drug accused Jamad Ali @ Jamat S/O Abdul Haq R/O Kheri Paroh, Tehsil Katra under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. During the action, immovable properties including 02 residential houses worth approximately ?45 lakhs were attached by a team led by SDPO & SHO Katra. The properties are believed to have been acquired through proceeds generated from illegal narcotics trade. The accused is involved in the following NDPS cases registered at Police Station Katra: (1). FIR No. 22/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act (2). FIR No. 217/2022 U/S 8/15/25 NDPS Act (3). FIR No. 145/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act (4). FIR No. 322/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act. Due to repeated NDPS offences , the accused was booked under PITNDPS Act & is presently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. Reasi Police remains committed towards making the district drug-free and appeals to the general public to cooperate with Police by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse so that the objective of a "Drug-Free Society" can be achieved collectively. |
