Ramban, June 4: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, a team from Police Post Sangaldan apprehended one suspicious person and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession at Naka Point PP Sangaldan.
On 03.06.2026 at approximately 2145 hours, during routine naka checking on Naka Point PP Sangaldan, a police party intercepted a person coming in a suspicious manner from Market side towards ChandailMorh. The said person, who was on foot, was intercepted and apprehended by the police party. On being questioned about his identity, he disclosed his name as Mohd Iqbal S/O Ab Rashid Katoch R/O BarakundTehsilGoolDistrictRamban. During his search, a heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 29/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gool. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain forward and backward linkages and to dismantle the broader drug network involved in the instant case.
District Police Ramban remains committed to eradicating the drug menace from society and appeals to the general public to extend cooperation by sharing any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse with the nearest police establishment.
