| Launch of 15-day 'Punctuality Drive' for passenger convenience | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 8: A special 15-day 'Punctuality Drive' has been launched in Jammu Division from today, 8 June, with the aim of providing better and timely travel facilities to passengers. The main objective of this drive is to improve the punctuality of Mail/Express trains and minimize inconvenience to passengers. In recent times, complaints of delays in some trains due to technical and operational reasons had been received. Keeping in view the inconvenience caused to passengers, this special drive has been implemented with immediate effect. Speaking about the direct benefits to passengers, the key points highlighted are as follows: Less Waiting Time: Technical defects in trains will be rectified immediately, so that passengers have to wait for a shorter time at stations. On-time Destination: With better coordination among all departments, trains will run closer to their scheduled time and passengers will be able to reach their work/home on time. Higher Speed: Wherever feasible, trains will be operated at maximum permissible speed to make up for lost time due to earlier delays. 24x7 Monitoring: Officers and supervisors will be present round-the-clock at major stations to ensure trains run on time and passenger assistance is available immediately. Transparency: Performance will be reviewed every week and new measures will be implemented to provide better service to passengers. A complete report on the benefits and improvements achieved for passengers will be shared at the end of this drive. |
