| June 2026 term-end examinations of IGNOU start smoothly across Jammu region | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: The June 2026 Term-end Examinations of the Indira Gandhi National Open University for various Academic Programmes offered by the University commenced on 1st of June, 2026 smoothly across the region and will conclude on 21st July 2026. The University, under the Jammu Region, has established 35 Examination Centres which include four Examination Centres in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, District Jail Ambphalla, District Jail Udhampur and District Jail Kathua exclusively for Jail inmates and one Examination Centre in Northern Command Udhampur exclusively for Army personnel. Around 32,000 learners who had filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu are appearing in the exams in around 1,90,000 sittings in the Examination Centres spread across the length and breadth of the region. The examinations are being conducted in two sessions every day. The morning session starts from 10AM till 1PM and the evening session starts from 2PM to 5PM. There are no examinations on Sundays and Govt. gazetted holidays. Regional Centre Jammu has established Examination Centres in all the ten district headquarters of Jammu province so that no learner has to travel long distances to take the exams. A Flying Squad team comprising of Senior Regional Director, Dr. Mohan Sharma Regional Director Dr. Asha Upadhyay made a surprise visit to the Exam Centres at Govt. MAM College, Jammu and Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today. Another team under the supervision of S. Tejinder Pal Singh, Deputy Registrar visited the Exam Centre at Govt. Degree College Kathua for on the spot monitoring. Dr. Vikram Singh, Assistant Regional Director, made a surprise visit to the Exam Centre established in Govt. Degree College, Kishtwar. Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Zeba and Dr. Jasleen Kaur Luthra visited the Exam Centre established in Bhargava Degree College Samba. Dr. Mohan Sharma, Senior Regional Director, informed that the examinations are being conducted smoothly across the region on the basis of feedback obtained from the Centre Superintendents, Observers, Flying Squad members and other field functionaries. Dr. Sharma lauded the efforts of Students Evaluation Division, New Delhi, Centre Superintendents, Regional Centre functionaries, Invigilation and other staff in ensuring smooth conduct of examinations across the region. Dr. Mohan Sharma informed that in addition to the Examination Centre in Govt. General Zorawar Singh College, Reasi, another Examination Centre in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has also been established for the first time to cater to the requirements of learners of district Reasi, and one Examination Centre has also been established in SKUAST Jammu to cater to the huge rush of examinees in Jammu city and around. |
