| Ramban police attaches property worth Rs 8 lakhs in bovine smuggling case under section 107 BNSS | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, June 9: In a major action against organized crime of bovine smuggling and illegal accumulation of wealth, District Police Ramban has attached movable property worth approximately Rs 08 lakhs under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The action was taken during the investigation of FIR No. 03/2026 registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. During the course of investigation, it surfaced that the owner of the vehicle had purchased the vehicle bearing registration no. JK19A3287 acquired through the proceeds generated from bovine smuggling. Acting promptly on the findings of the investigation, P/S Dharamkund obtained attachment orders from the Hon'ble Court Ramban, In compliance with the court orders, the following vehicle was formally attached in presence of EMIC Banihal: Vehicle No. JK19A3287 owned by Manzoor Ahmed S/o Abdul Aziz R/o Dharam, Tehsil Gool and Distt Ramban. The total estimated value of the attached property is approximately Rs 08 lakhs. The said action is carried out by Insp Joginder Singh Chib SHO PS Dharamkund, under the supervision of SDPO Gool and under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Arun Gupta. District Police Ramban reiterates its firm commitment towards combating bovine smuggling with zero tolerance and ensuring that illegally acquired assets generated through criminal activities are identified, traced, and attached strictly in accordance with the law. |
