Early Times Report REASI, June 9: Continuing its efforts to engage youth in constructive activities and promote a drug-free society, District Police Reasi organized a Night Cricket Tournament at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Stadium, Katra, under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. The initiative aims to channelize the energy and talent of local youth towards sports and healthy competition while spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, sports lovers and members of the local community. The event was inaugurated by the Superintendent of Police, Katra, in the presence of the SDPO Katra, SHO Katra, prominent citizens of Katra and a large gathering of youth and sports enthusiasts. The programme commenced with the National Anthem, reflecting the spirit of unity, discipline and patriotism. He reiterated the commitment of Reasi Police towards organizing sports activities, awareness programmes and community outreach initiatives aimed at building a healthier and drug-free society. The tournament began with an exciting opening match between Police XI Reasi and Muskan NGO Cricket Club Katra. Batting first, Police XI Reasi posted an impressive total of 193 runs. In reply, Muskan NGO Cricket Club managed 148 runs, enabling Police XI Reasi to register a convincing 45-run victory. The SHO Reasi was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. |
