Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Shri Uchit Singhal said regarding the additional coaches in trains, "Due to Vaishno Devi pilgrimage and general traffic during the summer season, heavy rush is being observed in trains.
Keeping this inconvenience of passengers in mind, Jammu Division has taken a prompt decision to provide for one additional Third AC coach each in Himsagar Express 16317/18 running on Kanyakumari-Katra route and Tirunelveli Express 16787/88 running on Tirunelveli-Katra route.
This will not only reduce the waiting list, but will also increase the chances of passengers getting confirmed berths. Passenger safety, convenience and punctual operation have always been the priority of Railways. Our effort is that pilgrims get a comfortable journey."
The Railways has requested passengers to take advantage of the increased additional capacity and travel only with a confirmed ticket before their journey. For reservation and updated train status, passengers can contact 139 or use the IRCTC website/app.
