Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: A Thana Diwas Programme was organized at Police Station Bus Stand, Jammu under the supervision of senior officers to strengthen police-public relations and address the grievances of the general public. The programme was graced by Vivek Shekhar, SP City North Jammu, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by respectable citizens, representatives of market associations, transport unions, traders, hoteliers, social activists and prominent persons of the area. During the interaction, members of the public highlighted various issues concerning law and order, traffic management, drug abuse, parking problems, verification of tenants and labourers, and other civic concerns. The Chief Guest patiently heard the grievances and suggestions put forth by the participants and assured them of prompt redressal through coordinated efforts of the police and concerned departments. Addressing the gathering, SP City North emphasized the importance of community policing and urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace, communal harmony and public safety. He also stressed the need for public participation in preventing drug abuse, cybercrime and other social evils. Similar police-public interactions have been conducted in Jammu under the leadership of SP City North Vivek Shekhar to strengthen public outreach and grievance redressal. The participants appreciated the efforts of Jammu Police and expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to interact directly with senior police officers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the commitment of Jammu Police towards responsive, people-friendly and transparent policing. |
