Ritika Trehan donates blood on World Blood Donor Day

Jammu, June 14: Marking World Blood Donor Day, BJP leader and State Convenor of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, J&K (UT), Ritika Trehan donated blood and appealed to citizens, particularly the youth, to come forward and contribute to the noble cause of saving lives through voluntary blood donation.Speaking on the occasion, Ritika Trehan said that blood donation is one of the most selfless and humanitarian acts a person can perform. A single unit of donated blood can help save multiple lives and provide hope to patients battling critical illnesses, accident victims, women facing medical emergencies, and those undergoing major surgeries.
“Blood cannot be manufactured in laboratories. It can only come from generous donors who are willing to help others in their time of need. By donating blood, we can make a meaningful difference and give someone a second chance at life,” she said.Trehan emphasized the importance of creating awareness about regular voluntary blood donation and encouraged healthy individuals to make blood donation a part of their social responsibility. She said that maintaining adequate blood reserves in hospitals and blood banks is essential for ensuring timely treatment and emergency medical care.
On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, she expressed gratitude to all blood donors for their invaluable contribution to society and described them as silent heroes who help save countless lives without expecting anything in return.Reiterating the message of “Donate Blood, Save Lives,” Trehan urged people from all walks of life to participate actively in blood donation drives and contribute towards building a healthier and more compassionate society.She said that every drop of blood donated has the potential to bring hope, happiness and life to someone in need, making blood donation a true service to humanity.
