| Now even ‘Kuber’ wants to come to Jewar: CM | | | Early Times Report
Lucknow, June 15: Farmers who dedicated their land for the construction of the Noida International Airport in Jewar arrived in Lucknow on Monday. These farmers, who travelled to the state capital on the first flight operated from Jewar to Lucknow, were accorded a grand welcome and honoured at the Chief Minister’s residence. The farmers shared their experiences, presented mementos to the Chief Minister, and expressed their gratitude. Interacting with the farmers, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Jewar has now become a place where even ‘Kuber’ wants to come. He also thanked IndiGo for commencing commercial flight operations from the airport.” The Chief Minister said, when his Cabinet approved the proposal for the construction of an airport in Jewar, he had instructed the District Magistrate of Noida and other officials to begin the land acquisition process within 100 days. However, even after that period, no action had been initiated. He stated that when he visited the area and held a review meeting, he found that no progress had been made. He then convened a meeting with around 100 farmers at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida. “I said that the airport has to be built, but the farmers refused to part with their land. There was uncertainty everywhere. I told them that we wanted to bring development here, yet people were refusing. I requested them to think about it for an hour. This airport will change your destiny.” Chief Minister said that he appealed to the elderly farmers and told them that it was time to demonstrate what a true model of development looks like. Everyone gets their moment in time. Some make something of it, while others fall apart. History is made by those who seize opportunities. Those who let opportunities slip away end up being left behind by them. He added, “The farmers placed their trust in him and that MLA Dhirendra Singh extended full cooperation. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and the Uttar Pradesh Civil Aviation Department accelerated the process on a war footing, resulting in the initiation of land acquisition for more than 13,000 acres. The airport is being developed in four phases, and the work related to the first phase has been completed.” The Chief Minister stated, commercial flight operations have commenced today from the Noida International Airport, one of the most promising aviation projects in India. |
