Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: In a significant initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurial awareness, practical exposure, and hands-on learning among youth, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) successfully concluded its Summer Internship Programme at its Regional Office, Bari Brahmana, and District Centres in Jammu and Udhampur. The programme was conducted under the overall supervision of Mohammad Younis Malik (JKAS), Director, JKEDI, and Shri Chand Kishore Sharma (JKAS), Joint Director, JKEDI, under the aegis of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Research (CEER), JKEDI. The initiative was conceptualized in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which lays strong emphasis on skill development, innovation, experiential learning, and industry-oriented academic exposure. The 10-day, 60-hour internship programme was designed to provide undergraduate students with practical insights into entrepreneurship, startup promotion, innovation, business planning, and institutional support systems available for aspiring entrepreneurs. A total of 229 students from various colleges across Jammu Division successfully completed the programme through eight batches. Of these, 169 students participated in six batches at JKEDI Regional Office, Bari Brahmana, while 40 students attended one batch at District Centre Jammu and 20 students attended one batch at District Centre Udhampur. During the programme, the participants were exposed to key aspects of entrepreneurship development, startup ecosystem building, innovation, self-employment opportunities, and various government and institutional support mechanisms. Interactive sessions, practical assignments, expert interactions, and mentoring inputs enabled the students to gain a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship as a viable career option. JKEDI faculty members and resource persons acted as trainers, mentors, and batch coordinators throughout the programme. They guided the participants in developing entrepreneurial competencies, leadership qualities, problem-solving abilities, and a practical understanding of business creation and enterprise development. The participating students represented several educational institutions, including GCW Gandhi Nagar, SPMR College of Commerce Jammu, MAM College Jammu, GCW Parade, GDC Akhnoor, and Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur. |
