Early Times Report REASI, June 17: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police has booked three drug consumers in separate cases in the Katra area and initiated legal action against them under the NDPS Act. On 16.06.2026, police teams of Police Station Katra deployed at separate check points apprehended three person from different areas falling in the jurisdiction of P/S Katra under suspicious circumstances. The individuals were allegedly found consuming a drug-like substance. They were taken to CHC Katra for medical examination, where their urine sample was tested using a Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Kit. The test results was found positive . Accordingly, FIR No. 190/2026, FIR NO. 192/2026 and FIR NO. 193 /2026 under 8/27 NDPS ACT was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation was taken up. The accused have been identified as: Raj Kumar (54 years), S/o Shiv Dass R/o. Hutt, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi. Ayaan Khan (20 years), S/o Mohd Sadeeq, R/o Kun Dorian, Katra. Vishal Sharma, S/o Mohan Lal, R/o Ward No. 04, Chowk Chabotra, Reasi. Reasi Police remains committed to its mission of eradicating drug abuse from society and appeals to the public, particularly the youth, to stay away from narcotic substances and cooperate with the police in making the district drug-free. |
