| Reasi police solves theft case; accused arrested, stolen property recovered | | | Early Times Report REASI, June 17: Demonstrating its commitment towards maintaining law and order and safeguarding the property of citizens, Reasi Police has successfully solved a theft case registered at Police Station Katra and recovered the stolen property worth Rs 1 lac On 16.06.2026, a written complaint was received at Police Post Kakryal from one Sadiq Ahmed S/o Fazal Hussain R/o Moori, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, alleging that four goats worth approximately ?1 lakh had been stolen from his farmland at Moori during the intervening night of 15/16 June 2026. Acting promptly on the complaint, Police Station Katra registered FIR No. 191/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS and initiated an investigation. During the course of investigation, police teams were constituted who with their coordinated efforts gathered vital leads using technical support and local source network, which ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the accused, namely Zubair Hussain S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Mahore, A/P Talwara, Tehsil & District Reasi. Upon interrogation and subsequent investigation, all four stolen goats were recovered from the possession of the accused. The stolen animals were found concealed inside the carrier compartment of an auto-load carrier bearing registration number JK02DM-7850. The vehicle used in the commission of the offence has also been seized in the case. The swift recovery and arrest highlight the professionalism and dedication of Reasi Police in preventing crime and ensuring justice to victims. Further investigation in the case is underway. |
