Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: The Sector 6 Residents Welfare Association (RWA), Channi Himmat, Jammu, organized an inauguration-cum-thanksgiving function at the Sector 6 Park to mark the completion and commencement of various development and beautification works undertaken in the park. Vikram Randhawa, MLA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Devansh Yadav, IAS, CEO, Jammu Smart City Limited, attended as the Guest of Honour. K.B. Khajuria, Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), was present as the Special Guest. Welcoming the distinguished guests, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) R.K. Sharma, Vice President of the RWA, expressed profound gratitude to MLA Vikram Randhawa and the authorities of Jammu Smart City Limited for their prompt response and support in undertaking developmental and beautification projects in the park. He particularly highlighted the provision of a borewell, construction of a gym room, installation of ornamental lights, and sanctioning of cross pathways, made possible through the financial assistance of the MLA and the Jammu Smart City authorities under the able guidance of Sh. Devansh Yadav. Addressing the gathering, S.K. Gupta, President of the RWA, recalled the transformation of the park from a neglected and dilapidated dumping ground into one of the most beautiful parks in the area. He acknowledged and thanked all individuals and organizations who contributed to this remarkable change over the years. He also appreciated the active participation and dedication of RWA members whose collective efforts made the seemingly impossible task a reality. In his address, Devansh Yadav emphasized the importance of water conservation and lauded the efforts of the Sector 6 RWA in maintaining and developing the park. He remarked that parks serve as the "lungs of society," benefiting all sections of the community, including senior citizens, youth, and children. Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Randhawa reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and development of his constituency, stating that he remains available 24x7 to address public issues and developmental needs. He emphasized that financial resources would not be a constraint for projects that serve the larger interests of society. He also appreciated the cooperation and dedication of the residents of Sector 6. During the function, Vikram Randhawa, Devansh Yadav, and K.B. Khajuria jointly laid the foundation tiles for the construction of the cross pathway in the park. Later, Randhawa and Yadav unveiled the commemorative plaque inaugurating the gym room and other developmental works dedicated to the residents of Sector 6, Channi Himmat. A large number of residents attended the event. Among those present were Dr. V.K. Gandotra, Treasurer of the RWA, and Joginder Kumar Gupta, Secretary of the RWA, along with other prominent members of the association. |
