Early Times Report BANDIPORA, June 19: Government Degree College (GDC) Bandipora on Thursday organised a series of awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to sensitize students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to become active stakeholders in building a drug-free society. The Department of Education, HKM Degree College Bandipora, organised an awareness lecture on drug de-addiction under the guidance of Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Parey. The programme highlighted the adverse social, psychological and health consequences of substance abuse and concluded with a strong message urging students to stay away from drugs and contribute towards a healthy society. The Youth Club of NSS Units also organised an Anti-Drug Pledge ceremony under the convenership of Prof. Irfan Ahmad Wagay. Students participated enthusiastically and pledged to remain committed to the fight against drug abuse while spreading awareness among their peers and communities. Meanwhile, under the guidance of the Principal, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, the Red Ribbon Youth Club organised an Interaction-cum-Awareness Session on Drug Addiction for outgoing 8th Semester students. Coordinator, Red Ribbon Youth Club, Dr. Mehrajuddin Talie, sensitised students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its social and health consequences, and the importance of making informed and responsible life choices. The interactive session witnessed active participation from students, who shared their views on the growing menace of substance abuse and discussed ways to safeguard themselves and society from the threat of addiction. The programmes concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen awareness and contribute towards the vision of a healthy, drug-free and progressive society. |
