Early Times Report SAMBA, June 19: In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing "Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan", Samba Police has dealt a major blow to the narcotics network by attaching movable and immovable properties worth more than Rs.2.08 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Narayan Sharma alias Shunna S/o Brita Lal Sharma R/o Ward No. 01, Thalori, Vijaypur, District Samba. Acting under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Samba Police attached properties identified as illegally acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking activities. Properties Attached The attached assets include: Residential Pacca House valued at approximately Rs 48.50 lakh One Car bearing Registration No. DL8CZ-3976 valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh Land measuring 12 Kanal and 4 Marlas valued at approximately Rs 1.50 crore Total Value of Attached Properties: Rs 2,08,50,000 (Approx.) During the course of investigation and enquiry, Samba Police established that the aforementioned properties were prima facie acquired through proceeds of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Consequently, the assets were seized and attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Further necessary legal proceedings in this regard are being initiated as per law. The accused Narayan Sharma @ Shunna is a habitual and notorious drug peddler presently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu under the provisions of the PITNDPS Act. He is involved in multiple NDPS-related criminal cases, including: 1. FIR No. 17/2025 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act, 111 BNS, 3/4/25 Arms Act of PS Ramgarh. 2. FIR No. 229/2025 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act of PS R S Pura district Jammu. This decisive action demonstrates the Samba Police's ongoing commitment to dismantle the drug trade by targeting illegal assets and deterring future offenders.
