Early Times Report RAMBAN, June 22: In a significant demonstration of citizen centric policing and commitment to public service, District Police Ramban has successfully traced and recovered 35 lost mobile phones worth approximately Rs 6.5 lakh and restored them to their rightful owners. The recovered mobile phones had been reported missing at various Police Stations across District Ramban. Acting on these reports, a dedicated team of Cyber Police Station Ramban comprising of PSI Arun Singh, PSI Arwinder Singh, ASI Mohd Shareef, Sgct. Ayaz Ahmed, Ct. Hemit Singh guided by Vikar Butt DySP Hqrs Ramban HQrs launched a systematic investigation and utilized advanced technical tools to trace and recover the devices. Following the completion of all necessary verification formalities, the recovered mobile phones were handed over to their legitimate owners. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ramban Police for their prompt response, professional efforts, and effective assistance in recovering their valuable belongings. Pertinently, since the establishment of the Cyber Police Station/Cyber Cell in District Ramban in 2024, a total of 275 lost or missing mobile phones worth approximately Rs 45.5 lakh have been successfully traced, recovered, and returned to their owners. Ramban police stands at third position in terms of tracing and recovering the lost phones throughout the UT of J&K. This initiative has earned widespread appreciation from the general public and reflects the growing effectiveness of technology driven policing in the district.
