New Delhi, June 29: 2017 Terror Funding Case: The NIA alleged that Malik and other separatist leaders received funds from Pakistan-based entities to finance terrorism, stone-pelting, protests, and secessionist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rubaiya Sayeed Kidnapping (1989): Rubaiya Sayeed was abducted on 8 December 1989 by militants linked to the JKLF. The kidnapping resulted in the release of five jailed terrorists after negotiations. Malik is among those facing trial in the case.
IAF Personnel Killing (1990): Four Indian Air Force personnel were killed and several others injured when militants opened fire on an IAF convoy near Srinagar on 25 January 1990. Malik is one of the accused in the case, which remains under trial. Sarla Bhat Murder Case (1990): The SIA alleges that Malik, then the chief commander of JKLF, conspired with associates to abduct, torture and murder nurse Sarla Bhat.
