Jammu, July 4: In a major crackdown on immoral trafficking, Rural Police Jammu busted an alleged sex racket in Akhnoor on Saturday. An official told Early Times that Police team raided a house in Ward No. 2, Kashmiri Mohalla, Akhnoor, based on specific and credible information. “A case has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor under FIR No. 164/2026 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956,” the official added. He said during the raid, police arrested three accused persons, including the owner of the house where the alleged illegal activities were being carried out. The arrested persons were identified as Ravi Gupta, a resident of Ward No. 2, Akhnoor and the owner of the house; Sarishta Devi, resident of Chowki Choura, Akhnoor; and Sahil Sharma, resident of Sungal, Akhnoor. The official said the operation was part of its sustained efforts to curb organized crime and immoral trafficking in the region. He said that further investigation is underway to identify other persons who may be involved in the alleged racket, ascertain the full extent of the illegal activities, and take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law. |
