KISHTWAR, July 4: On receipt of a written complaint at Police Post Drabshalla from a complainant (identity withheld) alleging the sexual assault of her 12-year-old granddaughter (identity withheld), Kishtwar Police initiated immediate legal action. The accused has been identified as Imran Hossain, son of Shamsuddin, resident of Bhugrana Badhat, Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh, JKPS stated that upon receipt of the complaint, FIR No. 149/2026 under Sections 7/8/11/12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar. A special police team was constituted, led by the SHO, Police Station Kishtwar, along with the ICPP Drabshalla and other police officials, under the supervision of the DySP Headquarters, Kishtwar, which successfully arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway, and legal proceedings are being carried out in accordance with law.
