SHIMLA, July 4: The Shimla Met office on Saturday issued an orange warning, forecasting heavy to very heavy rains in isolated places for two to three districts for Monday and Tuesday (July 6 and 7). The orange alert was issued for Mandi and Sirmaur districts on Monday, and Chamba, Kangra and Sirmaur districts on Tuesday. The weather department also predicted a wet spell in Himachal Pradesh till July 11. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains lashed several parts of the state in the past 24 hours since Friday evening, including Shimla, Jubberhatti, Sundernagar, Kangra and Kufri. Rajgarh was the wettest in the state, recording 90 mm (millimetre) of rainfall, followed by Kasauli 55 mm, Manali 51 mm, Bhatiyyat 45.3 mm, Dharampur 42.4 mm, Dharamshala 40.1mm, Sarahan 39.5 mm, Kotkhai 31.1 mm, Saloni 26.2 mm, Jubberhatti 26.6 mm, Jot 21.2 mm and Mashobra 21 mm. Kukumseri was the coldest at night, recording a low of 11.2 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day, recording a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius. |
