Drug abuse is becoming a major problem in today’s world, especially among young people. Every day, we hear stories about lives being ruined because of addiction. What often starts as curiosity or trying to fit in with friends can slowly turn into a habit that is very difficult to break. Drugs may seem like a temporary escape from stress or problems, but in reality, they create even bigger problems.
The effects of drug abuse are serious. It damages both physical and mental health, affects studies and careers, and destroys relationships with family and friends. Many people who become addicted lose control over their lives and may even get involved in crimes or violence to support their addiction. In many cases, drug abuse also leads to depression, loneliness, and sometimes even death.
There are many reasons why people start using drugs. Peer pressure, family problems, stress, anxiety, and a lack of awareness are some of the common causes. Instead of turning to drugs, people should be encouraged to talk about their problems and seek help from parents, teachers, friends, or counsellors.
Preventing drug abuse requires the efforts of everyone. Families should create a supportive environment at home, schools should educate students about the dangers of drugs, and the government should take strict action against illegal drug trafficking. Rehabilitation centres should also be available to help those who want to recover and start a new life.

By spreading awareness, supporting those in need, and making healthy choices, we can help build a safer and stronger future.
