LEH, July 24: The two-day International Conference on "Legal Framework of Election Management Body Independence" concluded today at Hotel Diskitsal, Leh, after a series of insightful deliberations on strengthening the institutional independence of Election Management Bodies (EMBs) and promoting transparent, accountable and resilient democratic institutions. The conference was organised by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Union Territory of Ladakh, in collaboration with the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), the Election Commission of India (ECI), and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). The event brought together constitutional experts, election administrators, legal scholars, academicians, judicial experts and international delegates to exchange perspectives on emerging challenges and best practices in election management. |
