| Amit Shah speaks to martyr cop's son, assures full government support | | |

Jammu, July 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday assured the family of martyred Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi of all possible assistance from the Central Government after speaking directly with the slain policeman's son over the phone.
Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA from Nagsani-Paddar, Sunil Sharma, visited the residence of the martyred policeman in Budgam to offer condolences on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During the visit, Sharma contacted Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who spoke to the martyr's son, Absar, inquired about the well-being of the bereaved family, conveyed his condolences, and assured them of the government's full support during this difficult period.
Sharma later shared a video of the interaction on his social media handle, describing it as a compassionate and humane gesture by the Union Home Minister. In the video, Sharma briefed Shah about the martyrdom of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who laid down his life in the line of duty during a terror attack in Anantnag on July 22, following which the Home Minister spoke directly with the martyr's son.
"Visited the home of martyred Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi in Budgam to pay respects and offer heartfelt condolences to his family. In this difficult time, prayers remain with the bereaved family, wishing them strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss," Sharma wrote on his social media handle.
He further posted, "Grateful to Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji for personally speaking to the martyr's son and assuring the family of the Government's full support and assistance during this challenging period."
Speaking to reporters after meeting the family, Sharma said Amit Shah personally conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the Central Government would stand firmly by them and extend every possible assistance.
He said the family also shared their concerns directly with the Union Home Minister during the conversation, and Shah reaffirmed that the Government of India remains committed to supporting them in every possible manner. |
