Induction Week concludes at MCM with infotainment extravaganza

Chandigarh, Aug 8: The Induction Week at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women culminated in a vibrant Infotainment Extravaganza, bringing together music, dance, interaction and celebration in a fitting finale to the institution’s welcome programme for the new batch. Organised under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the Induction Week was aimed at acquainting newcomers with the ethos, academic environment, values and diverse opportunities offered by the college.
Ms. Juhi Jalota, IFS, Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the newcomers, Ms. Jalota encouraged them to make responsible choices, stay away from addictions, acquire new skills and cultivate the habit of mindful reading. She urged the newcomers to remain resilient in the face of challenges and keep faith in themselves and their abilities.
The event also provided students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the wide range of co-curricular and student engagement platforms available on campus.
The Deans and Conveners of various Committees and Clubs were introduced to the new batch, highlighting the diverse avenues through which students can explore their interests, develop leadership skills and participate in institutional activities. Adding colour and energy to the celebrations were a series of lively cultural performances, including vibrant dance presentations, which received enthusiastic applause from the audience. The highlight of the extravaganza was the much-awaited Ms. Fresher Contest, in which the newcomers confidently took to the ramp, showcasing their poise, personality and grace.
Welcoming the new batch, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma extended her best wishes to the students and inspired them to make the most of their college journey by embracing opportunities, nurturing their talents and upholding the values of the institution.
The celebrations reached their much-anticipated finale with the announcement of the results of the Ms. MCM Fresher 2026 Contest, which was greeted with loud cheers and applause:
