37th Provincial Sports meet concludes

Udhampur, Aug 8: The two-day 37th Provincial Sports Meet, organised at Sant Ishwar Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Nainsu, Udhampur, concluded successfully in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, discipline, sportsmanship, and patriotism. The valedictory ceremony was held with great dignity and grandeur.
The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Mam Chand Mittal Ji, District President, as the Chief Guest. Shri Harvilas Bhardwaj, Member, Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti; Shri Kuldeep Ji, Provincial Sports Convener, Jammu Province; Shri Nek Ram Sharma Ji, Minister, Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti, Jammu; Shri Anil Khajuria Ji, District Secretary; Shri Mulk Raj Sharma Ji, Member, School Management Committee; and the judges Darshan Ji, Ravi Ji, Pankaj Ji, Sushil Ji, Bhupendra Ji, Pritam Ji, Sonali Ji, Kalpana Ji, Kulwant Ji, and Mangal Ji graced the occasion as distinguished guests.
The programme was also attended by the Principal, Smt. Renu Sharma, members of the School Management Committee, principals of participating schools, teachers, coaches, parents, and students from various Vidya Bharati institutions.
A total of 325 boys and girls from 12 schools across Jammu Province participated enthusiastically in the Sports Meet. Competitions were organised in the Bal Varg, Kishore Varg, and Tarun Varg categories in Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Karate, Kabaddi, Yoga, and Table Tennis, where the participants displayed exceptional talent, discipline, and true sportsmanship.
The valedictory ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana, the welcome and felicitation of the guests, and the formal introduction of the dignitaries by the Principal, Smt. Renu Sharma. Students presented vibrant cultural performances showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage, unity, and national pride. Winners and runners-up were honoured with trophies, medals, and certificates, while the overall championship trophies were presented to the best-performing schools.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Mam Chand Mittal Ji congratulated all the participants and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the organisers. He emphasised that sports play a vital role in developing discipline, leadership, self-confidence, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students, preparing them to become ideal and responsible citizens.
Shri Kuldeep Ji appreciated the discipline, enthusiasm, and outstanding sportsmanship displayed by all the participating teams. He also lauded the excellent arrangements and warm hospitality extended by the host school.
Principal Smt. Renu Sharma expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, all participating schools, officials, volunteers, teachers, parents, and support staff for their wholehearted cooperation in making the event a grand success. She congratulated the winners and encouraged every participant to continue striving for excellence while upholding the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The programme concluded with the collective rendition of the National Song, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and pride. The successful completion of the 37th Provincial Sports Meet reaffirmed the commitment of all participants towards excellence in sports, discipline, character building, and nation-building.
