| GDC Ramgarh conducts Swachhata, Plogathon activity in Swankha | | |  Early Times Report
Ramnagar, Aug 8: The NSS Unit ‘Prabha’ of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organized a Swachhata and Plogathon activity as part of its community outreach initiative, involving NSS volunteers in a cleanliness drive along the community route and streets in the village of Swankha.
The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of the Principal, Dr. Meeru Abrol and was coordinated by NSSPO Dr. Snobar. The Principal appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication of the NSS volunteers and emphasized that such initiatives instill values of discipline, service, patriotism, and social responsibility among the youth.
The volunteers actively collected plastic waste, wrappers and other litter from the roadside and public areas while spreading awareness among local residents about cleanliness, proper waste disposal and the importance of keeping the village surroundings clean. The activity reflected the spirit of “Shramdaan” and community participation, with the NSS volunteers encouraging residents to join hands in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Similar Swachhata initiatives by NSS Unit ‘Prabha’ have previously been conducted in Swankha, where volunteers cleaned village streets and collected plastic waste for proper disposal. The volunteers also emphasized that cleanliness should not remain a one-day activity but should become a regular community practice. The initiative highlighted the commitment of NSS Unit ‘Prabha’, GDC Ramgarh towards environmental protection, civic responsibility and community development, while strengthening the bond between the college and the local community. |
