Early Times Report REASI, Aug 10: The Indian Army organised awareness lectures on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" at Girls High School, Chakalsalta, Reasi and Khanetar, Poonch respectively, as part of its ongoing Sadbhavana initiatives aimed at community outreach and social empowerment. The lectures focused on the importance of girl child education, gender equality, women empowerment and equal opportunities for personal and professional development. A total of 56 students and four teachers participated enthusiastically in the session. Motivational stories of accomplished Indian women were shared to inspire students, while various government schemes supporting the education, welfare and empowerment of girls were also highlighted. The sessions further emphasised the need to address gender inequality and declining female-to-male ratios by ensuring equal access to education, healthcare and opportunities. Interactive discussions enabled students to share their views and clarify queries. The initiatives were appreciated by students and teachers, reaffirming the Indian Army's commitment to empowering youth and promoting inclusive social development. |
