JAMMU, Aug 10: AIIMS Jammu is proud to inform that the first outdoor voluntary blood donation camp of the Department of Transfusion Medicine (Blood Centre) was successfully organized at Sant Nirankari Mission, Samba, on August 9, 2026. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers of the Sant Nirankari Mission, reflecting their commitment towards the noble cause of voluntary blood donation and community service. Strict quality protocols were followed during donor registration, medical screening and blood donation. The camp was organized under the able guidance and leadership of the Executive Director & CEO, Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma, whose continued guidance and support contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the camp.
The camp also received necessary administrative and logistical support from the Medical Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Kundal, ensuring its smooth and efficient conduct. The camp was successfully conducted under the expert supervision of Dr. Urvershi Kotwal, Associate Professor & Head, Dr. Sushant Kumar Meinia, Associate Professor and their dedicated team from the Department of Transfusion Medicine & Blood Centre.
The Department of Transfusion Medicine & Blood Centre, AIIMS Jammu, expressed its sincere appreciation to all the donors, volunteers, organizers and support staff for their valuable contribution towards this lifesaving cause. The successful camp once again reinforced the message that voluntary blood donation is a noble act of community service and an essential contribution towards saving lives. |
