Jammu, Aug 17: Two mysterious deaths of employees associated with AIIMS Jammu at Vijaypur within a span of just two days have raised serious questions and prompted police to launch a detailed investigation. Assistant Professor Dr Vivek Pandita was found dead inside his car in the Barnai area of Jammu on August 14. Just two days later, on August 16, AIIMS staff nurse Priyanka, a resident of Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, was found dead inside a locked rented room in Vijaypur. The two deaths, involving employees of the same premier medical institution within a short span, have drawn heightened attention, with police examining whether there is any possible connection between the incidents. However, investigators have not yet established any link between the two cases. The Jammu and Samba police are jointly investigating the deaths and examining evidence collected from both locations. Investigators are looking at all possible angles to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Police are also awaiting the post-mortem reports, which could provide crucial clues about the causes of death. Call detail records and other digital evidence are also expected to form an important part of the investigation. The Vijaypur police informed Priyanka’s relatives about her death on Sunday morning. Her family members subsequently reached AIIMS Vijaypur and completed the necessary formalities. Later on Sunday evening, they left for Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh with her body, where her last rites were scheduled to be performed. With two AIIMS employees found dead within 48 hours, investigators are under pressure to establish the exact circumstances behind both incidents. The post-mortem findings, forensic evidence, call records and other investigative leads are expected to determine whether the deaths were isolated incidents or whether any common factor links them.
