NEW DELHI, Aug 18: In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir's Civil Society, Keshav Chopra, Social Activist & Chairman of the Samvedna Society, has been conferred with the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi National Service Award 2026. The Certificate of Excellence was formally presented to him on August 16, 2026, by Er. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Founder and Director of the awarding organization, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to community empowerment and humanitarian service.
The national award acknowledges Chopra's extensive grassroots Social Welfare initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir. Through his steadfast leadership at the Samvedna Society, he has spearheaded 108 Free Medical and Diagnostic Health camps in Different Parts including Rural and underserved areas, ensuring essential healthcare access and distributing medicines to underprivileged families who lack adequate medical facilities.
Beyond public health, the award highlights his multi-faceted contributions toward community welfare, including the organization of Voluntary Blood Donation Drives, Youth Development Programs through sports, Drugs Awareness Programmes, and skill-building, and proactive civic and environmental cleanliness campaigns. His swift coordination in providing Different Government Schemes Benefits to the Common Man, Organizing Several Aadhaar Enrollment Camps and also Providing vital relief Aid and Educational assistance to marginalized and vulnerable sections of society has earned him widespread acclaim.
