| Doda police intensifies drive against illegal mineral transportation; two vehicles seized, Rs. 52,064 penalty imposed | | | Early Times Report DODA, Aug 18: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, District Police Doda has taken action against two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah, resulting in the imposition of a total penalty of Rs 52,064 by the District Mineral Office (DMO), Doda. During traffic checking conducted in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah, a police team led by SHO Police Station Bhaderwah intercepted and seized a tipper bearing registration No. JK02AK-7215 for illegal transportation of mineral. The matter was taken up with the District Mineral Office, Doda, which subsequently imposed a penalty of Rs 16,048 against the vehicle. In another action undertaken on 16.08.2026, SHO Police Station Bhaderwah along with his team seized a dumper bearing registration No. JK06A-1092 for illegal transportation of mineral. The matter was accordingly referred to the District Mineral Office, Doda, which imposed a penalty of Rs 36,016 against the vehicle. Accordingly, two vehicles were seized and a cumulative penalty of Rs 52,064 was imposed in the two cases. Doda Police reiterates its firm commitment to curbing illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals across the district. Regular checking and enforcement drives will continue, and violators will be dealt with strictly in accordance with law. District Police Doda appeals to vehicle owners and transporters to carry valid documents/e-Challans while transporting minerals and strictly adhere to the applicable mining laws and regulations. |
