Early Times Report REASI, Aug 20: In a major breakthrough in its sustained campaign against drug trafficking, Reasi Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered 28 grams of Heroin (Chitta) during naka checking near Baradhari, Reasi. A police team of Police Station Reasi, while conducting routine naka checking at Baradhari, intercepted a car bearing Registration No. JK20A-6609. During the search of the vehicle and its occupants, 28 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as: Mohd Parvez S/o Mohd. Bashir, R/o Seela, Reasi. Mohd. Riyaz S/o Ali Mohd., R/o Kansipatta, Reasi. Both accused were arrested on the spot, and the recovered contraband was seized in accordance with the provisions of law. In this regard, FIR No. 151/2026 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network and identify other persons involved. This successful operation reflects the unwavering commitment, vigilance and professional competence of Reasi Police in its relentless fight against the drug menace.
