REASI, Aug 20: In a major breakthrough in its sustained campaign against drug trafficking, Reasi Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered 28 grams of Heroin (Chitta) during naka checking near Baradhari, Reasi.
A police team of Police Station Reasi, while conducting routine naka checking at Baradhari, intercepted a car bearing Registration No. JK20A-6609. During the search of the vehicle and its occupants, 28 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as:
Mohd Parvez S/o Mohd. Bashir, R/o Seela, Reasi.
Mohd. Riyaz S/o Ali Mohd., R/o Kansipatta, Reasi.
Both accused were arrested on the spot, and the recovered contraband was seized in accordance with the provisions of law.
In this regard, FIR No. 151/2026 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network and identify other persons involved.
