DODA, Sept 10: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) today successfully concluded the three-day Inter-District Divisional Level Kabaddi Tournament for Under-14 Boys here at the Indoor Stadium Doda. Poonch emerged as the champion after defeating Rajouri by 23 points in the final. The tournament, held from September 08 to 10, 2026, was organized as per the approved Activity Calendar of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K. On the concluding day, Rajouri defeated Samba by 33 points in the first semi-final to secure its place in the final, while Poonch defeated Ramban by 20 points in the second semi-final to book the other finalist spot.
The final witnessed an exciting contest between Poonch and Rajouri, with both teams displaying commendable skill, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. Poonch maintained its composure throughout the match and eventually registered a 23-point victory to lift the Under-14 Boys Divisional Kabaddi title.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Ashok Kumar appreciated all participating teams for their spirited performances. He also lauded the efforts of the technical officials, field staff and departmental personnel for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the tournament. |
