Early Times Report RAMGARH, Sept 19: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College, Ramgarh, organized a one-day lecture on "Financial Literacy" in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The programme was organized under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal, GDC Ramgarh, and convened by Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Convener, Career Counselling Cell. The session was conducted by Prof. (Retd.) Pawan Kumar Gupta, SEBI Smart Securities Market Trainer, who provided students with valuable insights into various aspects of financial planning and investment. He discussed the basics of saving and investment, capital markets, mutual funds, investor awareness, financial planning, and ways to safeguard against financial frauds and Ponzi schemes. He also emphasized the importance of starting financial planning at an early age and explained the benefits of systematic investment and the power of compounding. In her address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol highlighted that financial literacy is an essential life skill for young people in the present era. She appreciated the initiative of the Career Counselling Cell and remarked that collaborations with institutions such as SEBI provide students with practical knowledge and exposure beyond the conventional curriculum. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and faculty members. The interactive session provided students an opportunity to clarify their queries related to personal finance, investment and financial planning. The formal welcome address was delivered by Prof. Brahm Dutt, while the programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Sandeep Kumari. The event was attended by faculty members including Dr. Snobar, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Dr. Sneh, Dr. Bisat Tariq, Dr. Uma Prashar, Dr. Sapna and Prof. Priya Sharma, along with a large number of students. |
